CPAP

Well, it was not for long, since Antonio is back to the conventional ventilator as of this morning, but as you can see he got to spend some quality time on the CPAP yesterday. Since on this machine he was doing all the breathing himself, that proved to be quite a workout for him so he got tired last night and the doctors decided to intubate him again.

He is doing fine, and the ventilator is working on the same settings as prior to his move to the CPAP, so it was just a hickup and not a full setback... Antonio will remain on the ventilator for one or two weeks more, and then they will try the CPAP again.

The good news is that, depite the change, they still get to do his eye and brain exams this week... keep you fingers crossed, and the prayers coming.

Bem, não foi por muito tempo, uma vez que ele já está de volta no ventilator convencional, mas como você pode ver pela foto acima, o Antonio teve um bom Domingo no CPAP. Uma vez que neeso tipo de respirador todo o trabalho de respiração ficou por conta dele, o Antonio ficou cansadinho e ontem de madrugada os médicos resolveram intubá-lo (no bom sentido é claro!) novamente.

Ele está indo muito bem no ventilador, com os mesmos "settings" de antes, o que significa que essa mudnaça foi apenas um contratempo e ele não regrediu... O Antonio vai ficar no ventilador por mais uma ou duas semanas, e depois disso eles vão tentar o CPAP novamente.

O melhor é que, mesmo com essa mudança, eles ainda vão fazer o exame dos olhinho e da cabecinha dele... Cruzem os dedos e continuem orando por ele.
