O Natal tá Chegando & Xmas is Almost Here!

A cada dia que passa eu fico mais confuso com esse mundo: Ontem depois de dois dias de comilança, meus pais também resolveram trazer uma árvore de pra dentro de casa, botaram no meio da sala, e começaram a colocar uma porção de penduricalhos nela... ficou bonito, mas eu não sei o porquê!

A única explicação que me deram foi que o Natal está chegando... eu fiquei o dia todo olhando pra porta e não ví esse tal de Natal ou qualquer outra pessoa chegar!

Acho que eles estão me enganando... Apesar disso, foi interessante ver que eles também colocaram uns troços embrulhados embaixo da árvore. Eu não consigo nem esperar pra desenbrulhá-los -- eu adoro rasgar papel!

I get more confused about this world with every day that passes by...Yesterday, after two days of constant eating, mommy and daddy hauled a tree inside, put it right in the living room and start putting dangling thingys all over it! It was pretty, but I don't understand why they did that...

The only thing they told me was that someone named Xmas was coming, but I waited looking all day at the door and did not see anybody come in! I think they are trying to fool me...

However, despite all the fuss they made, I liked seeing that they put some gifts under that tree! I can't wait until I can unwrap them -- I love ripping paper!


Depois de um dia de trabalho duro, eu e o papai nos deitamos "`a sombra" da arvore pra descansar / After a long day of work, daddy and I laid down "under the shade" of the tree to rest a little.

O Antônio mandou eu dar uma passadinha rápida aqui pra colocar algumas fotos de ontem... esse ano a Sandra e eu tivemos muito a agradecer: a chegada e "permanência" do nosso pequeno guerreiro na nossa vida; o fato de termos tido a sorte de encontrar profissionais tão gabaritados no hospital para cuidar dele e fazer com que ele vingasse; a amizade e carinho dos nossos amigos durante aqueles que forma os mais difíceis dias na nossa vida...

Então ontem, hoje e sempre nós damos graças ao Cara lá de cima e a todos vocês que tocam na nossa vida.

Hi everybody,

Antonio asked me to come here and do a quick post and upload some pictures from last night's party. Sandra and I have much to be thankful for in 2008: the arrival and "continuation" in our life of our little warrior; How lucky we were to have so many wonderful professionals at St. Joseph's who took great of him and literally saved Antônio's life; the friendship and love of our friends during those times which were the most difficult days in our lives…

So, yesterday, today and always we give thanks to the that guy up-there and to all of you who touch our lives.

Por aqui, eles chamam o dia de Ação de Graças de "Dia do Peru", e como tal demos um pouquinho da ave pr Antônio provar, e claro que ele gostou mais de jogar no chão pros cachorros comerem.

It was turkey day so we tried to give Antonio a little turkey, he really liked throwing it to the dogs but not so much in his mouth.

Ação de Graças é como o Natal para nós, um dia de se reunbir com a família; portanto nós passamos o dia com nossos vizinhos os Emersons: Abby, Ryan, Maya, Corrine, Suzy e Zoie. Nós nos divertimos e começos bem pra caramba.

Thanksgiving is time for family so we spent the day with our family next door Ryan, Abby, Maya, Corinne, Suzy and Zoie Emerson. We had fun and good food.

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is already here... althought I am not sure of what all the fuss is all about. I don't even remember last year's holiday!

Anyway, daddy and mommy have been cooking up a storm since yesterday... I can't wait to try all the good things they are preparing for the feast. I will come back here to say how the party went and post some pictures later.



Como esse ano passou rápido... Hoje já é o Dia de Ação de Graças aqui por esa bandas, se bem que eu não tenho certeza do que isso significa! eu nem me lembro da festa do ano passado!

De qualquer forma o papai e a mamãe estào cozinhando prum batalhão desde ontem! O cehirinho que vem da cozinha é delicioso e eu estu doido pra experimentar todas as comidas que ele estão preparando para a festa... mais tarde eu volto pra colocar mais notícias e algumas fotos.

Antônio não pode ver um computador que ele loga e checa seus emails... alias ele sempre reclama por que você não escreve mais!

Antonio can't see a laptop computer without wanting to log in and check his emails... actually, he always complains that you don't write him more often!

Blowing Kisses & Beijin, Beijin...

A few days ago, Antonio started to smack his tongue and lips, normally when he saw Sassy laying around him... as first we did not get it, but then we noticed that he would do the same each and every time we blew kisses at him. So I guess that is his way of doing the same... hopefully, one day, he will understand that the tongue is not to be used in all kisses!

Há alguns dias o Antônio começou a estalar os lábios e a lingua, normalmente quando a Sassy estva em volta dele... demorou um pouco pra nós nos tocarmos, mas ele fazia o mesmo toda vez que nós mandávamos beijos para ele. Então, achamos que essa é a forma dele mandar beijos para nós também... nós esperamos que um dia ele vai enterder que não é pra usar a lingua em todos os beijos!

My first (official) snow & A minha primeira neve (oficial)

Hoje caiu neve pela primeira vez nesse inverno... a mamãe me disse que havia nevado muito enquanto eu estive no hospital, mas naquela época eu não podia ir à janela, então não conta.

De qualquer forma, eu gostei de ver os flocos de neve caindo, queria ir brincar lá fora com as cachorras, mas já havia derretido quando o papai conseguiu um break no trabalho pra ir comigo.

For the first time this season, we got some snow today... mommy told me that there was a lot of snow when I was still in the hopsital, but at that time I was not allowed to go to the window, so it really does not count!

Anyway, I liked to watch the snow flakes falling -- and you can see how excited I was about them on the video above. But I really wanted to go out and play with the dogs, but when daddy got a break from work to take me, the snow had already melted.



Uma vez que o papai não pôde me levar pra brinca na neve, a mamãe resolveu me levar pra ir brincar com a Corrine que mora na casa ao lado... apesar da pouca distância, a mamãe colou uma tonelada de roupa pra eu não sentir frio.

Since daddy could not take me outside to play in the snow, mommy decided to take me next door to play with Corrine. Despite the small distance between the two houses, mommy put a ton of clothes on me to make sure I was nice and toasty!



Com a chegada do inverno e a primeira neve, meus pais resolveram comprar um "snow suit". Não posso esperar pra estreá-lo na próxima neve... será que o papai já comprou um tobogã também?

With the arrival of winter and the first snow, mommy and daddy went out and bought me a snow suit... I can't wait to try it out next time ot snows. I hope daddy also bought me a sled!

Aqui em casa nós tentamos ter a "tradição" de fazer todas as refeições à mesa, sem aquela de comer em frente da TV e, desde que o Antônio começou se sentar, fazemos a questão de que ele também participe da refeição... e das conversas.

Here at home, we try to eat all meals at the dining room table... no eating in front of the TV. Since Antonio started to sit up, we make sure that he is an active participant in the dining experience... and in the conversations.

Nearly half a million babies are born prematurely every year and the number is rising.

What's New & Quais as Novidades

Hi Everybody, sorry for the silence lately, but I have been quite busy the past few days... many milestones needed to be reached, so I will try to update you about the new developments with this post.

O Gente, tudo bem? Desculpa o silêncio, mas eu estive muito ocupado nos últimos dias... eu atingí vários marcos e vou tentar atualizar vocês através dest post.

To start, I went to my first birthday party! Actually I had no other option, because it was my mommy's birthday and the party was here at home... I was a little cranky because of the late hours, but I still had fun... no cake, but fun!

Pra começar eu fui na 1a. festa de aniversário da minha vida! na verdade, eu não tinha outra saida pois era aniversário da minha mãe, e a festa era aqui em casa... Eu estava um pouco amuado, por causa das "altas horas" mas ainda assim eu me diverti... não comi bolo, mas me diverti!



Now I have a little routine established, and I call my grandmother Margarida in Brazil a few times a week... but everytime my dad picks up the phone I want the phone to speak with her, no matter who is on the line.

Eu agora tenho uma rotina estabelecida e ligo pra minha vó Margarida algumas vezes por semana... mas cada vez que o papai pega no telefone, eu quero pegar e falar com ela, não importa que seja na outra linha.



To help me learn how to sit properly, Ms. Lynn (my physical therapist) suggested that mommy and daddy tried using a laundry basket -- the sides would give me boundaries and force me to balance and sit without shooting back... and it works too!

Pra me ajudar a aprender com me sentar direito, a Lynn (fisioterapeuta) sugeriu que a mamãe e o papai me colocassem num sesto de roupa -- os lados do sesto me forçariam a permanecer equilibrado e não cair pra trás... e não é que funciona!

Puff Time...

Duas vezes por dia, pela manhã e noite, nós precisamos dar ao Antonio duas doses do inalador Flovent... nós já criamos uma rotina, com música e tudo ("Puff Time" ao som de "Hammer Time").

Ele se comporta direitnho, como vocês podem ver abaixo.

Twice daily, early morning and evening, we need to give Antonio two doses of the inhaler Flovent... we already have our routine down, with music and everything ("Puff Time" sounds like "Hammer Time").

He tolerates it very well, as you can see below.

Nosso pequeno Antonio é fascinado pelas outras "crianças" aqui de casa, e quer por que quer brincar com a Sassy e a Phobe o tempo todo... às vezes ele consegue e o resultado, bem veja você mesmo.

Our little guy Antonio gets mesmerized looking at the other "children" of the household, and wants to play with Sassy and Phoebe at any cost... sometimes he gets what he wants, and the results , well see it yourself.

Happy belated halloween to everyone... Our little guy was so into the holiday, that he wore two "scary" outfits: he was dressed as a mummy during the day and then later he went to hang out with the trick-or-treaters outside as a grizzly bear!

Feliz dia das bruxasa atrazado... Nosso pequeno Antônio adorou tanto esse "holiday" que passou o dia todo vestido com fantasias "assustadoras": se fantasiou de múmia durante o dia, mas à noite colocou uma fantasia de urso grizzle pra se enturmar com as outras ciranças pedindo doce.
